Niagara's death toll now at 509.
Niagara Public Health is reporting 61 new COVID-19 cases today, as well as one death.
The area's death toll is now at 509.
There are 71 Niagara Health patients with the virus, 49 of which are being treated primarily for COVID-19.
Ten patients are in the ICU, including six who are unvaccinated.
Throughout Niagara, there are 1,787 active cases, including 590 in St. Catharines, 329 in Niagara Falls, and 215 in Welland.
There are also two new outbreaks, one one the 4th floor at the Niagara Health Welland County site and one at Lookout Ridge Retirement Communities in Pelham.
This brings the active outbreak total to 19.
More than 1,006,000 vaccinations have been administered in Niagara.
To date, about 87.1 percent of residents aged five and older have one dose and 83.3 percent have two.
