
Ontario's daily case numbers jump as Premier Doug Ford gears up to make an announcement on the province's booster shot strategy.
The province is reporting 1,808 new COVID-19 infections and nine deaths today.
This comes as Premier Doug Ford, Health Minister Christine Elliott, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones, and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore are set to make an announcement this afternoon about booster shots in the province.
Throughout Ontario, there are 357 patients hospitalized with the virus, with 154 in ICUs.
Of the people in hospital, 84 are double-dosed, and the remaining 273 are not fully immunized or have an unknown vaccination status.
In Ontario, 24,711,702 vaccine doses have been administered. 90.3% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.7% have two doses.
