The Ontario government is supporting air purification solutions in Fort Erie.
Abatement Technologies Limited is getting $2.5 million through the Ontario Together Fund.
The company is a leader in clean air technology, and has seen a spike in demand for products such as its air purification systems.
The investment will allow the business to expand its production capabilities with a new facility in Fort Erie, as well as purchase new equipment.
"Through the Ontario Together Fund, our government is making strategic investments in domestic businesses with the ideas and solutions to help us through this pandemic," said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. "Demand for Abatement Technologies’ products, including air purification systems for healthcare facilities and residential homes, has increased dramatically. With Ontario’s support, the company will be able to significantly expand its production and continue to enhance our resilience to any challenge while strengthening our economy."
The company started breaking ground on the project in April 2021, and the project has created 21 jobs to date, with another 40 expected over the next three years.
